NIMISHA ANTONY
Medical Illustrator
About
Nimisha Antony is a medical illustrator who focuses on creating equitable visuals that spotlight underrepresented communities and complex scientific information. She attended the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2023 to complete her Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization. Her primary services include creating 2D and 3D illustrations within the realm of human anatomy, surgery, pathophysiology, and biological and molecular content.
Nimisha has cultivated her skills in making works for museums, textbooks, websites, e-modules, patient education materials, and editorial uses. She brings a collaborative approach to working with clients, ensuring their vision comes to life in the final product. She prides herself in creating illustrations that blend together traditional and digital elements to create both detailed and painterly content. Her attention to detail also holds true to her sculpted and custom painted and textured models she creates for her more 3D-focused illustrative works.
Outside of her work, Nimisha strongly advocates the importance of visual communications outside of the health industry. She engages in community-building events and professional discussions about the field through her university’s organization, the Student Association of Medical Students, where she served as co-vice president. She continues to share her views through local events and collaborations with various people and organizations.
